Novonesis to Invest €600 Million in Patalganga Site Expansion

Key Highlights:

  • Novonesis will invest €600 million to expand its Patalganga site in India and build an advanced enzyme production facility, increasing capacity to meet rising global demand for biosolutions across biofuels, household care, and food and beverages.
  • Expected to be fully operational by 2030, the facility will strengthen Novonesis’ supply network and bring production closer to customers across India, the Middle East and Africa—key growth markets expected to outpace developed regions.
  • Designed with sustainability in mind, the facility will use freshwater recycling and integrated heat pumps to reduce water and energy consumption and support lower Scope 1 and 2 emissions. The investment forms part of Novonesis’ broader global production expansion strategy.

Implications:

Novonesis’ €600 million investment in Patalganga will expand its enzyme production capacity in India, helping the company meet demand from biofuels, household care, and food and beverage customers across India, the Middle East, and Africa. The facility, expected to be operational by 2030, will also strengthen Novonesis’ supply network and support more sustainable production through freshwater recycling and heat pumps that reduce water and energy use.
